SIBEL EDMONDS SAYS OSAMA BIN LADEN WORKED FOR THE US GOVERNMENT IN CHINA

Sibel Edmonds, who worked for the FBI.

On 31 July 2009, Sibel Edmonds told the Mike Malloy Show that the U.S. government had 'intimate relations' with Osama bin Laden right up to the day of the attacks in New York on September 11, 2001.

(Google and Blogger Shut Down Sibel Edmonds’ Blog )

"These 'intimate relations' included using Bin Laden for 'operations' in Central Asia, including Xinjiang, China.

"These 'operations' involved using al Qaeda and the Taliban in the same manner 'as we did during the Afghan and Soviet conflict,' that is, fighting 'enemies' via proxies," reported the Brad Blog.

In an email sent today, Edmonds writes about Google blocking her Blogger account. "My Blog Site http://123realchange.blogspot.com is now blocked by Google’s Blogger".

(Google and Blogger Shut Down Sibel Edmonds’ Blog )

Edmonds alleges that in the course of her work for the government, she found evidence that the FBI, State Department, and Pentagon had been infiltrated by a Turkish and Israeli-run intelligence network that paid high-ranking American officials to steal nuclear weapons secrets.[9]

She claims that the FBI received information in April 2001, from a reliable Iranian intelligence asset, that Osama Bin Laden was planning attacks on 4-5 cities with planes, some of the people were already in the country and the attacks would happen in a few months.[10][11]

INDONESIA MATTERS

The best book about Indonesia is Culture Shock - Jakarta by Derek Bacon and Terry Collins

In August 2009, oil should start to flow from the huge Cepu oilfield in the centre of Java.

Exxon Mobil, Pertamina and Petrochina are all involved in oil production in this area.

Indonesians

The USA has been interfering violently in Indonesia for many years.

Back in the 1950s, the CIA and MI6 were working with Moslem groups and sections of the Indonesian military to try to destabilise the Indonesian president.

President Sukarno was seen as being neutral rather than hostile towards Russia and China, and this did not suit the US and UK.

In 1958, CIA planes were bombing Indonesia, in the hope that the bombs would be blamed on Moslems. (Indonesia 1957-1958 KH)

"A plane bombed a ship in the harbor of the island of Ambon ... as well as hitting a church ...700 casualties had resulted from this single run...

"A CIA plane bombed the Ambon marketplace, killing a large number of civilians on their way to church...

"Three days later, during another bombing run over Ambon, a CIA pilot, Allen Lawrence Pope, was shot down and captured.

"Thirty years old, from Perrine, Florida ... was to spend four years as a prisoner in Indonesia before Sukarno acceded to a request from Robert Kennedy for his release.

"Pope was captured carrying a set of incriminating documents, including those which established him as a pilot for the US Air Force and the CIA airline CAT."

Blair knows a number of the Indonesian generals.

PLOT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT.

Susilo Bangbang Yudhoyono and friend.

Obama has not yet been to Indonesia.

Reportedly, there has been a plot to kill Indonesia's President Yudhoyono.

On 8 July 2009, at a house in Bekasi, 12 minutes drive from the president's house, "two suspected militants were killed and three were arrested" during a police raid.

(Indonesian Police Kill 2 Suspected Militants Outside Jakarta, Find 500 kg of Bombs)

One of the men killed in the raid was identified as ex-prisoner Air Setiawan.

Air Setiawan was jailed for his role in the Australian Embassy bombing in 2004.

He was released from jail in 2007.

The Indonesian military is said to hate Australians because of their intervention in East Timor.

The main victims in so many of the terror attacks in Indonesia have been Australians.

Confusion surrounds fate of terrorist Noordin /Jakarta bomb suspect death in doubt

The Jakarta Post reports that the Police have foiled a plot to kill the Indonesian president

"National Police chief Gen. Bambang Hendarso Danuri said the terror group intentionally rented a house in Jatiasih in the West Java town of Bekasi, which is located 12 minutes drive from the president’s private residence in Cikeas in the West Java town of Bogor."

'Why Jatiasih? Because it is situated just about 12 minutes drive from the president’s [private] residence. It’s a legal fact that the target is the president’s house,' Bambang told a media conference on 8 August 2009.

Reportedly, in Indonesia, certain right-wing generals are not very happy with President Susilo Yudhoyono, who is a former general, and a little bit of a reformer.

In Indonesia, in the first half of 2009, there was a presidential election campaign, involving at least 4 generals, including Susilo Yudhoyono, Prabowo and Wiranto.

Reportedly, some of the military have had an 'Anyone But Susilo Yudhoyono' campaign.

The generals are usually allied to the rich elite; and that apparently suits the Pentagon.

Tempo Magazine (No. 24/IX February 10-16, 2009) (SBY vs The TNI: War of Whispers [+Editorial: After the ABS Rumor] )tells us:

"RUMORS abound that presidential candidates from the ranks of retired generals are making use of their ex-subordinates' loyalty to form political lobbies...

"PRESIDENTIAL spokesperson Andi Mallarangeng confirmed that the information on military notables who had been engaged in the 'Anyone but 'S' for President' or ABS campaign did enter the Palace..."

In early 2009, "Army Chief of Staff, General Agustadi Sasongko Purnomo gathered around 200 retired generals in the Balai Kartini in Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jakarta.

"Present were, among others, former Army Chief of Staff, Gen. (ret) Ryamizard Ryacudu..."

Reportedly, at the time of the Bali bombings, one of the generals who just happened to be in Bali was army chief of staff Gen. Ryamizard Ryacudu. [Jakarta Post, 1/3/2003; Pacific Media Watch, 3/31/2003] (Ryamizard Ryacudu)

INDONESIA: THE NEXT BATTLEFIELD

Indonesian model. (discover-indo.tierranet.com/indogirls1.htm)

A few years ago, at Inside Indonesia, Kurt Biddle wrote about Indonesia - US military ties :

"The Pentagon seems to be chomping at the bit for military involvement in Indonesia.

"One of the most vocal advocates for military ties with Indonesia is Deputy Secretary of Defence Paul Wolfowitz, a US ambassador to Indonesia for three years during the Reagan administration.
"He has repeatedly argued that Washington should help Indonesia fight terrorists.

"Wolfowitz told the Far Eastern Economic Review, 'Going after Al Qaeda in Indonesia is not something that should wait until after Al Qaeda has been uprooted from Afghanistan.'

"It remains to be seen if and how the US will be involved in Indonesia, but with 600 US military 'advisers' on the ground in the neighbouring Philippines, some see Indonesia as the next battlefield."

Indonesians

In the USA and Europe, false flag terrorism is allegedly used to increase the power of the military.

In Indonesia, certain generals reportedly want to increase the already considerable powers of the military.

In Indonesia, a new Secrecy Bill could mean that journalists reporting on sensitive issues could face imprisonment or the death penalty.

(Secrecy bill threatens press freedom The Jakarta Post )

A struggle has been going on, since at least 1998, to increase the powers of the military.

In Indonesia, two members of Kopassus (Indonesia's special forces) were convicted and jailed for the stock exchange bombing, which took place in 2000.

In 2002, The Age, a major Australian newspaper, commented about the stock exchange bombing:

"Indonesian military elements were prepared to cause massive casualties and huge economic disruption in their own capital for the purposes of elite-level politics."

(Should the military be on the list of suspects? - theage.com.au)

On 7 November 2002, Tom Fawthrop, at Asia Times, reported on the Indonesian military's links to terror:

"The highly politicized Indonesian military, trained in waging terror during more than 30 years of General Suharto's dictatorship, are among the suspects in last month's Bali bombing, according to a respected Indonesian commentator."

Wimar Witoelar, former spokesman for ex-president Abdurrahman Wahid, said "the plot is probably hatched by hardline military rogues. This is certainly an excuse for a military takeover unless it is preempted."

The militant Moslem organisations Jemaah Islamiyah and Laskar Jihad both have links with Indonesian generals.

According to Australian academic Dr Greg Barton, certain Indonesian generals use the various Islamist militias for their own purposes.

Barton says (Asia Times): "In early 2000, when President Wahid sacked General Wiranto over the East Timor post-ballot massacres and began to push hard for profound reforms within the military, non-Islamist, nationalist generals joined forces with generals known to be religious hardliners to use radical Islamist militia to destabilize the Wahid administration."

Members of the Cokar, an Ambon militia, admitted they had been trained and funded by Kopassus (Asia Times).

An Indonesian

Many of Suharto's top generals remain in leadership positions.

President Yudhoyono and his two main political rivals, Prabowo and Wiranto, are all former Suharto generals.

Who carried out the Bali Bombing, which incidentally helped General Yudhoyono to come to power?

The airline manifest of Garuda has confirmed that at least two military generals from Jakarta happened to visit Bali just three days before the bombings and that they returned to Jakarta just one day before the Sari Club was blown up. (Asia Times)

The two generals were General Djaja Suparman and General Ryamizard Riyacudu.

Jakarta human-rights activist Bonar Naipospos told Asia Times Online: "General Suparman is one of the generals who was behind the extremist Jihad groups. He set up militias composed of gangsters and religious fanatics to counter student demonstrations in 1998. One of these militias, Pram Swarkasa, became the embryo of Laskar Jihad."

Bonar Naipospos commented to Asia Times Online: "I believe the military is involved in the bombing, but I fear the Bali police chief is in a difficult position and they will not follow leads to high-ranking people."

Indonesia's General Prabowo has sometimes tried to persuade the world that there is a great threat from militant Moslems.

Would this tie in with what the Pentagon would like us to think?

Indonesians

KISDI is a militant Moslem group and it is "closely connected with Lt. Gen. Prabowo Subianto."

(Radical Islam: Suharto proxies or al Qaeda?)

Prabowo is not a particularly religious figure.

One of his parents was Christian.

President Suharto was toppled in 1998.

In 1998 one of the key generals was Prabowo, son of Dr. Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, a former Finance Minister.

Sumitro is said to have helped the British and the Americans to topple President Sukarno.

Prabowo learnt about terrorism at Fort Bragg and Fort Benning in the US.

In May 1998, Prabowo was commander of Kostrad, the strategic reserve, the regiment Suharto commanded when he took power in 1965.

Prabowo's friend Muchdi ran Kopassus (special forces) and his friend Sjafrie ran the Jakarta Area Command.

The American Defence Secretary, William Cohen, was in Jakarta in January 1998 and he visited Prabowo.

The CIA chief had also been a recent visitor to Jakarta. The CIA and the Pentagon were close to Prabowo.

"Prabowo Subianto needs to answer allegations that he masterminded a plan to kidnap a group of high-ranking generals as part of a 'counter-coup' in the early 1980s, the governor of the National Resilience Institute, Muladi, said...

"A recently released book written by retired Lt. Gen. Sintong Panjaitan, the former head of the Army's Special Forces, or Kopassus, claims that in 1983, when Prawbowo was deputy commander of the 81 Anti-Terror Detachment, the then-captain alleged that a group of generals was planning to stage a coup against President Suharto...

"Sintong, who was Prabowo's commander in 1983, wrote that he had successfully convinced Prabowo that there would be no coup and the counter-kidnap plan was aborted..."

'DISINFORMATION' ON MANCHESTER UNITED AND THE JAKARTA HOTEL BOMBS

Picture of a footballer in Jakarta taken by Jonathan McIntosh

On 31 July 2009, Richard Lloyd Parry, Asia Editor of The Times, tells us that Al-Qaeda claims suicide bombers were targeting Manchester United

It was the 'spooky' Lloyd Parry who wrote a book entitled 'Suharto's Indonesia: In The Time of Madness'. In this book he failed to mention the role of the CIA in the toppling of Sukarno and Suharto.

Security and terrorism analysts say that the recent statement on a Web site claiming responsibility for the hotel bombings in Jakarta on behalf of Malaysian Noordin M Top could be an attempt to derail the police investigation. (Jakarta Bomb Web Site May Have Aimed to Distract Police: Expert)

"The statement is not typical Noordin," said the internationally renowned terrorism expert Noor Huda Ismail.

Ismail noted inconsistencies in the statement, including many typos and the fact that the group gave an incorrect date.

He also doubted claims that Manchester United's visit was a reason for the attacks.

"If they wanted to target Manchester United, why not wait until the team arrived," Ismail said.

Ken Conboy, who has written about Indonesian terror acts, said "there is nothing in (the statement on the Web site) that suggests that it was indeed Noordin M Top."

According to expert Nasir Abbas, "The writing on the blog is different to his letters that were confiscated before." (Noor Din's Claim on Blog about the Bombings Being His Doubted)

The blog writes the name of Noor Din as 'Nur Din'. While on previous letters, the name was always written as 'Noordin' without a space.

"The blog spells Ritz-Carlton as 'Rizt Calrton'. This is not right. He would not be wrong about spelling words in English," said Nasir.

"We will not be fooled by fake information," said deputy of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian Police Headquarters, Brig. Gen. Soelistyo Ishak.

Suharto's Indonesia: In The Time of Madness

Richard Parry, the author, was correspondent for the British Independent newspaper for the period 1997-1999 covered by this book and has chosen violence as his theme for understanding recent Indonesian history.

Given the short time he was here, he could just as well have chosen kretek cigarettes or herbal medicine as his theme.

I've read a few online reviews of the book by journalists who may have seen a clip of a riot on CNN and none of them seem to portray the societal upheaval that I witnessed in that period.

None of them convey the solidarity felt by residents here, but all have that element of touristic voyeurism.

Miko, a long-term resident, a regular reader of Jakartass and occasional commentator, has written the following review. It should save you the expense of buying the book.

Parry's book is a load of onanistic twaddle. While walking through a country in great turmoil all he tells us about is himself, how he is feeling, his emotions, what he is enduring, him, him, him.

A good journalist should be able to report what is happening and convey the scene on the ground in precise objective terms. We couldn't give a flying fart what emotional turmoil they may be enduring, we're not interested no more than I care what the personal emotions of my plumber are as long as he makes a good job of restoring my shower fittings.

Parry tells us that on the morning of the Trisakti shootings he was going to ask his girlfriend to marry him, he tells us how he felt about this and what it would mean for him but then after much agonising he decides not to. Then he goes to the university to watch the demo he stays for an hour or two and then goes back to the hotel where he is told about the shooting. He misses the biggest story in Indonesia in thirty years, but, hey, we know about his domestic situation, sheesh great journo.

In East Timor everyone is cartoonish, the brave, quiet, proud, heroic, romantic Timorese, and the ugly, goonlike, thick, dirty Indonesians none of whom have a redeeming quality.

Of course as soon as the first shots are fired he scarpers for the UN compound and stays there thus having no idea what was going on outside. But we do know that he was tired, emotional and contemplative oh and yes Timorese civilians were being massacred outside the walls. When the first evacuation plane comes he scrambles on board; well, he had no cigarettes left. What do you expect from courageous journalists? He doesn't record how many Timorese women and children he pushed out of the way to get on the plane.

Back in Darwin he agonises for a month in various Irish bars before going back again. This time he sees lots of big burly Aussie and Brit soldiers, whom he clearly doesn't like and describes in insulting terms. You see sensitive souls such as him are offended by men who say "fuck" a lot. He passes over the fact that these brutes were the people who sorted the damn mess out while writers like him were wanking themselves into a coma.

Sorry for the length of this review but I just finished the book last night and I needed to get it off my chest this morning.

Aangirfan comments: In his book, Richard Lloyd Parry makes no mention of the CIA/MI6 role in the toppling of both Sukarno and Suharto.

Quite.

INDONESIA'S 'MASTERS OF TERROR' ARE SPLIT?

There is a long history of terror being used by sections of the Indonesian military

Gary LaMoshi, at Asia Times, 8 October 2004, pointed out the links between terrorism and the Indonesian military:

"Violence against civilians for political purposes has long been part of Indonesia's military arsenal.

"Under ... former president Suharto's New Order... sometimes soldiers themselves terrorized civilians, and sometimes they outsourced, generally to secular thugs, as in East Timor.

"But the military also has used Islamic radicals for political purposes.

"At the dawn of military rule in 1965, the junta tapped Muslim organizations to help kill hundreds of thousands of alleged communists...

PLOTS IN JAKARTA

The Jakarta hotel bombs could be the work of elements of the Indonesian military, in league with a foreign power?

In July 2006, Indonesia's Tempo Magazine informed its readers of the discovery of weapons and ammunition at the home of General Koesmayadi, who had died rather suddenly.

The weapons were enough to arm two companies of soldiers. (Brig. Gen. Koesmayadi.)

There were rumours that the weapons were to be used in a plot against President Yudhoyono.

"It is not unthinkable that they were to be used for a coup d’etat, sold, or channeled to separatist movements," said Yuddy Chrisnandi, a member of the House's Defense Commission.

According to Tempo Magazine: "Suspicions of a coup are based on the high level of rivalry within the TNI (the military), between those who support President Yudhoyono and those who oppose him."

General Prabowo and Megawati, who stood against General Yudhoyono in the 2009 presidential election, claim that 28.5 million votes for President Yudhoyono were invalid.

General Wiranto is also not happy with the election result as his group came third.

The campaign team of Megawati Sukarnoputri and Prabowo Subianto has lodged legal action demanding that the Constitution Court annul President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s victory and order new elections. - Mega Demands Showdown With SBY

Back in in May 1998, it was President Suharto who was in trouble.

Rumour had it that the army was split between supporters of General Wiranto and supporters of General Prabowo.

Word was that on the streets there were three rival forces: Wiranto’s tanks, Prabowo’s tanks and the tanks of the marines.

Reportedly Wiranto went to President Suharto on the evening of the 20th of May and told him that he, Suharto, no longer had the support of the army.

Allegedly Wiranto also spoke at some point to Habibie, who took over from Suharto, and insisted that Prabowo should be demoted.

Some weeks later there were press reports of a dramatic incident that allegedly happened late on the evening on May 21st, 1998.

According to a 'senior military official', General Prabowo, accompanied by troops, arrived at the presidential palace and demanded that he be made boss of the armed forces.

One report spoke of a loyal army officer helping Habibie and his family make their escape from the palace.

What we do know is that, on May the 22nd, Prabowo was sacked as head of Kostrad while Wiranto remained as chief of the armed forces.

Gladio-style terror in Istanbul, New York, Jakarta, Mumbai and London, linked to 'Moslem' militants and Israel?

Events in Turkey reveal a lot about false flag operations, where fascists of various religions work in harmony.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is an extremist Moslem group which is supposed to be trying to bring about an Islamic caliphate.

Reportedly, Hizb ut-Tahrir has links to the Pentagon, Israel and Gladio-style terrorism.

Operation Gladio was a CIA-Pentagon-NATO operation which reportedly carried out acts of terrorism in Italy in order to keep the right-wing folks in power.

And it's not just in Jakarta and New York and Mumbai and London that we now find Gladio-style terror.

The Bologna Bombing was blamed on the CIA-NATO's Operation Gladio.

In Turkey, there is evidence that right-wing elements within the military, known as Ergenekon, worked with Islamic militants to destabilise the country and promote a fascist agenda.

Turkish police have recently detained nearly 200 suspected members of Hizb ut-Tahrir. (Close relation between Hizb ut-Tahrir, Ergenekon exposed)

An investigation has revealed that Uğur K. and İsmail G., two of those detained, had, in the past, had several telephone conversations with Ergenekon suspects, including Maj. Fikret Emek.

Gladio-style terrorism seems to be being used in London, Jakarta, Mumbai...

The Turkish media tells us, on 28 July 2009, that the Close relationship between Hizb ut-Tahrir and Ergenekon has been exposed

"According to the Ergenekon indictment, Ergenekon leaders used terrorist organizations in Turkey ... to create chaos in the country, which they hoped would make it easier to realize their ultimate goal of triggering a military intervention.

"The evidence suggests that the group had links to ... the fundamentalist organization Hizbullah ... and Hizb ut-Tahrir...

"A past raid at the house of Kemal Aydın and Neriman Aydın, two Ergenekon suspects, had revealed the terrorist organization's close ties with Hizb ut-Tahrir...

"İstanbul police also said the leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir's Turkish branch, Cemalettin B., started to lead his group from Israel, where he settled after being released from prison in Turkey. Cemalettin B. was sending e-mails to his followers from his Israeli home and preparing his group for attacks in Turkey.

"Turkish police are now focusing on the relations between the group's leader and Israel. Cemalettin B. has not been subjected to police follow-up or legal action in Israel since he settled there."

Kopassus, Cilacap and the Jakarta hotel bombs.

Koppasus special forces. Image from: kebangkitan-kita.blogspot.com/

Kopassus is the Indonesian special forces regiment.

Some people suspect that the American-trained Kopassus is behind the 'terrorism' in Indonesia.

Kopassus was at one time run by General Prabowo, rival to president Yudhoyono.

Kopassus has a song: "Dari Bandung ke Cilacap".

Kopassus trains in Cilacap.

Alleged Jakarta hotel bomber Noordin Top has family in the town of Cilacap.

Cilacap is seven hours by train from Jakarta.

Kopassus trains in Cilacap. The alleged Jakarta hotel bombers come from Cilacap

On 24 July 2009, we learn from TEMPO Interactive about Ahmadi, 39, alias Ahmad Jenggot.

Ahmadi comes from Cilacap.

He is a chicken farmer and does not have a family certificate or ID card. This could suggest that he may be a poor, and poorly educated, villager.

Reportedly, Ahmadi has given himself up to the authorities and admitted that he had been prepared by Noordin Top for 'a suicide bombing.'

Ahmadi's friend Saefudin Zuhri was arrested before the recent hotel bombings; and he is also from Cilacap.

Zuhri reportedly fought in Afghanistan in the CIA's jihad operation. (Regular trips to Jakarta point to bomb suspect)

Bahrudin Latif is also from Cilacap.

He is the 'father-in-law' of Noordin Top.

Some weeks before the Jakarta hotel bombings, the police claimed they found two bombs wrapped in a blue plastic bag in the back yard of Bahrudin's house.

Many of the security staff in Jakarta are off-duty members of the military.

Reportedly, a Mr Aziz took a suitcase into the Marriott hotel.

(Inside information from flower seller who had run of five-star hotels)

The suitcase was not checked through an X-ray machine or subjected to any scrutiny.

All the Marriott's four vapour detectors, which are used to look for explosives, 'were out of order'.

The reception staff could not make a copy of his Indonesian identification card 'because the two photocopying machines at the front desk were unavailable.'

Could this be an inside-job?

Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) was blamed.

However, in February 2001, the respected Indonesian newsweekly Tempo published a cover story suggesting links between the bombings and the Indonesian military, the TNI.

The article pointed out that Edi Sugiarto, who was quickly arrested and confessed to assembling 15 of the bombs used in the town of Medan, has long run a car repair shop in the province of Aceh, where a separatist group named GAM has been fighting for many years.

Members of TNI and Indonesia’s special forces, Kopassus, regularly went to his shop for repairs and just to hang out.

As a result, GAM claimed he was a TNI lackey and burned down his shop and house in 1997.

Phone records also indicated that Sugiarto called Fauzi Hasbi seven times before the bombings.

Hasbi is a leader of JI, but Tempo outed him as an Indonesian government mole.

In 2005, two years after Hasbi’s death, the Australian television program SBS Dateline provided additional evidence of Hasbi’s long-time links to the TNI.

Fasbi also called Jacob Tanwijaya, a businessman well connected with the TNI, 35 times.

That businessman in turn talked on the phone to Lt. Col. Iwan Prilianto, a Kopassus special forces intelligence officer, over 70 times. (Source: Kopassus)

THE USE OF PATSIES IN THE JAKARTA HOTEL BOMBINGS?

Marinus

The Indonesian police say that a dead male suspected of being the Marriott bomber, of 17 July 2009, was 16 to 17 years old and white skinned.

(Indonesia police release images of suspect bombers)

He could well be a patsy.

Police said DNA tests on the families of two men suspected of carrying out the attacks, named as Ibrahim and Nur Hasbi, had returned negative results.

It has been alleged that elements of the American trained Indonesian military have used mentally backward youths in their terror plots.

In 1998, elements of the Indonesian military wanted to topple Indonesia's President Wahid.

Allegedly, in East Java, members of the military dressed up as Ninjas.

The East Java police were among many suggesting the ninjas were linked to the army. (Human Rights Watch: Review of Indonesia 1998)

Allegedly the military then dumped mental patients in villages.

When the village vigilantes arrived, they thought the mentally backward youths were Ninjas and chopped their heads off.

Indonesia was destabilised.

There is a suspicion that the security services recruit their patsies from among the weakest members in society: people with mental problems, people who are petty criminals, people who can be easily brainwashed.

The mentally disturbed Marinus Van der Lubbe was accused by the Nazis of causing the Reichstag Fire.

Many believe that he was manipulated by the Gestapo.

Historians Bahar and Kugel used evidence from Gestapo archives to argue that the fire was almost certainly started by the Nazis.

They say that a commando group of at least three, and at most ten SA men led by Hans Georg Gewehr set the fire using self-lighting incendiaries, and that Van der Lubbe was brought to the scene later.[13]
